Allergies and Psoriasis, Neurodermatitis
The term allergy refers primarily to an over-sensitivity to certain substances that occur in our environment, that we absorb with our food, or that we apply to our skin in the form of skin care creams or medicinal salves. Some of these substances are so disturbing for our body that it reacts against such irritants, known as allergens, by producing antibodies. If the production of antibodies exceeds a certain limit, we find the excess reactions, or allergies, referred to here. Psoriasis and neurodermatitis cause the immune system to be over-burdened, due to the metabolic disorder that is present. This inherited disorder causes the production of defective substances in the metabolism. We like to refer to these as disturbing factors. Our body responds to these with defense mechanisms. An allergy is always an acute situation. In contrast to this, in the case of psoriasis and neurodermatitis the reaction of the immune system is more likely to be slow and … more (book order)
