Heredity and Psoriasis
A distinction is made between the presence of and genetic predisposition to and the actual occurrence of psoriasis. For the latter, the affected person must experience a trigger; this can be a psychological shock, stress, an infection or an operation. In Europe, the predisposition rate is around seven percent. Approximately half of these people will develop full scale psoriasis during the course of their lifetime. This book deals in detail with heredity and possible triggers for the occurrence of psoriasis.
