Heritability of Psoriasis or Neurodermatitis
First of all, we must make clear that the disposition to psoriasis or neurodermatitis is certainly inherited. According to statistics the likelihood of inheriting psoriasis or neurodermatitis is as follows: if one parent is affected, the likelihood of the children also developing the disease is around 18 percent. If both parents are affected, the risk for the child rises to about 64 percent. This, however, is only one aspect of the disposition.
