Itching and Psoriasis, Neurodermatitis
Itching is one of the most unpleasant accompanying symptoms of psoriasis and even more so in neurodermatitis. Each person is affected to a different degree. If the skin has developed thick scales and (in neurodermatitis) particularly at night it can become an even worse torture. Nonetheless, it is still important to try to avoid scratching. Scratching or some other physical irritation can cause itching to start as well as intensifying it. The skin problems can all too quickly be scraped open and is then susceptible to infections. The condition of the disease psoriasis or neurodermatitis is worsened by scratching. And since, in the case of psoriasis, the scales then actually begin to flake off it becomes particularly embarrassing when one is in the company of other people.
