Seasonal Influences and Psoriasis, Neurodermatitis
The condition of the people with psoriasis or neurodermatitis depends quite clearly on the season of the year. This has first of all to do with the varying amount of sunshine at the different seasons. In people “settled” in one region the seasonal influence is most clearly recognizable: psoriasis or neurodermatitis is generally better in summer – when there is more sunshine – than in winter. There are exceptions, such as an allergy to sunlight causing the skin to react with a rash even after only short exposure to the sun. In this case the amount of light tolerated by the skin is so small that extreme reactions cannot be avoided. But with patient building up of their tolerance of sunlight, people affected in this way can even encourage their skin to produce enough pigment to protect it during the next period of exposure to sunlight.
