Symptoms in the Joints from Psoriasis (Psoriatic Arthritis)
Approximately 30 percent of all persons with psoriasis also have psoriatic arthritis. This results in painful swelling of one or more or even all of the joints. These are painful during movement and also if pressure is applied from the outside. The symptoms of joint psoriasis are very similar to those of rheumatic inflammation of joints and, in the early stages, can scarcely be distinguished from the latter. One difference that could be mentioned is that rheumatic joint problems tend to be more symmetrical or to predominate in certain joints. In psoriasis the incidence is completely random.
